Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:
As a Production Planner and Buyer, you will plan and manage assigned materials.
You will research, source and evaluate vendors which are aligned to the business goals.
You will also manage the inventory levels and accuracy to ensure company goals and customer ordering timelines are met.
Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:
Your Accountabilities in the Role Planning:
60% of the Job Perform planning and forecasting duties for the business unit in CTB ERP system; including maintenance of product planning bills.
Manage active internal and external parts orders to ensure materials will be received in a timely manner to support manufacturing schedules, customer orders and inventory build strategies.
Collaborate any scheduling issues that may impact operations and Customer Service, where the sales order schedule may be impacted and to find proactive solutions.
Perform new part set-ups and/or changes within the ERP system as required.
Develop and lead projects and initiatives as assigned.
Create and maintain production schedules.
Work with accounts receivable and/or shipping department on any cost or quantity receipt issues.
Claim work orders when needed.
Buying:
40% of the Job Researches, evaluates and selects appropriate vendors that support the purchasing initiatives for the area and leads the negotiation of supply agreements for approval, ensuring price point goals are met.
Monitors and evaluates vendor performance and leads/assists in resolving quality, delivery, and billing issues timely and effectively.
Communicates and collaborates with Department Manager, Department members, and Plant Management on a frequent basis to ensure vendor product is delivered as needed to meet customer orders.
Actively collaborates with the Department Manager, Department members and Plant Management team(s) to proactively understand purchasing needs on common items or commodities to maximize purchasing leverage and ensure material availablity and budget goals are met.
Maintains and updates all vendor records within the ERP systems to ensure vendor contact, pricing and costing information is up to date and accurately recorded.
Provides regular updates to the Department Manager and Plant Management team(s) on major raw material trends and key material problems to ensure changes with material needs or schedules are identified timely.
Assists with the inventory cycle count process, reconciling discrepancies of parts managed to ensure part counts are accurately updated.
Actively supports Lean and Safety Initiatives through participation in training and related events to foster productivity and process improvement within the department or cross-functional areas.

Position Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Sulpply Chain, Manangement or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
3
years of experience in production planning experience preferred; however, may consider less experience with a degree and some of the experience and/or skills needed for the role.
Certification(s):
APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) Certificate preferred, but not required Functional Skills:
Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required for this role.
Excellent planning, prioitzing, attention to detail, and follow-up are also needed to meet the job functions.
Experience with structured processes who can enhance current processes along the way.
Stong investigation skill set with the ablilty to implement corrective actions as needed.
Experience with international planning preferred while working with our Vietnam Sister Company.
Technology Skills:
Solid Microsoft office skills; experience in working with internet tools required; experience with an E-commerce and ERP system preferred, but not required.
Language Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to work with various external and internal customers.
Leadership/Behaviors:
Self-starter, who can work well through customer matters, especially under pressure.
Requires strong interpersonal skills and yet an assertive person to work with customers and dealers on discrepancies, delinquent payments, etc.

The employee is primarily exposed to a normal office setting with moderate noise and a climate-controlled environment.
The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments.
This position may face inclement weather conditions when traveling.
Travel:
Limited travel to attend/visit trade shows as needed.
